This is a mixed media piece. It charcoal on book pages. This piece was inspired by William Kentridge's This is How the Tree Breaks.

The image is of my great grandmother's farm house in North Alabama after what we consider a "large snow." This piece is a representation of my heritage, my personal past and my present. It shows my family's birth place layered on top of a collage of physic's book pages which represent my engineering background.
